I don't think any company out there is doing more than Sony is in the revamping department. Recently, Sony USA enlisted the help of artist Maya Hayuk who designed funky graphics for a couple of limited edition Sony VAIOs. The company is basically doing the same in Japan, this time showcasing the work of three budding artists who created color-rich designs to jazz up three of its existing products.
A project called "Canvas@Sony" currently features artwork by artists Hajime Yoshio, Ryuji Otani, and ZAnPon, on three of Sony's most popular products that include the NW-A808 8GB Walkman (¥26,800/$228), a pair of canal earphones with retractable cord and carabineer (¥5,980/$51), and the Sony VAIO VGN-CR90 laptop (¥114,800/$978). Only 100 of each will be sold through Sony Style stores in Japan, but at those prices they probably won't last their limited run that started October 15 through November 4th. Any lover of Japanese art will certainly appreciate this limited edition collection.
