Clip-on...Earphones?

Love it or hate it?

There have been many crossovers between fashion and technology. Take for example the Swapsets concept. The idea is to integrate a headset or earphones into a fashionable fabric headband women wear to pull their hair back. They can also add dangles to it, or choose a different fabric to match their outfit. It's a great idea for the fashion conscious divas.

Korea's Aving News has discovered another fashion tech-accessory that has left me cold. Why? Because I can't handle clip-on earrings. They give me headaches, but it may be a great idea for those of you who have managed to overcome the clip-on earring pain.  Earmecca is responsible for such a brave move in earphone fashion. The EP series earring-earphones have an adjustable clip right below the colorful earphone, and the clips are available in ten different designs such as stars, crosses, hearts and pearls.

Sorry gals, they appear to be only available in Korea at the moment, but rest assured these earrings will eventually make their way to the States.

So what do you think? Do you love it or hate?

Must've been a man to think of the idea, b/c every woman knows how uncomfortable and painful clip on earings are. Yeah these headphones are slightly fashionable and could be considered hip, but overall I don't think it would be worth the pain the clips would cause your earlobes. I'll stick w/normal headphones!

I don't use earphones of any kind but I think teenagers will love this. At least for a little while.

That isn't such a bad idea, because i have problems with my earphones staying in. But I'm not sure i absolutely love them, maybe they'll grow to my liking once i hear more about them when they come to America.

They don't work for people who have to wear hearing aids.

That would be pretty interesting! Though, I'm not too fond of the clip on style. They should make headphones prettier, you know? :)

Remember the "brick" cell phone and how small the current ones are now? Well, how about the same thing for the cell phone in the ear devices which use bluetooth? The ultimate would be a device which sits comfortably in the ear, held in place with a small piercing and can be used as a general purpose earphone for music, cell phone, even as a hearing aid. Use a micro version of bluetooth to a device worn somewhere else that has the controls. Did you know they even have eyeglasses now which are held on by a piercing through the bridge of the nose? Just give things some more time and you'll be amazed.

It looks like a good idea to me...seems it would keep it in place better, and the cute colors don't hurt either. They still look like earphones so it's not too super cheesy.

Not something I would use. i don't like clipons and I am the clumsy type the other girl was talking about. I would pull a sweater over my head and it would rip out, or do something in the car and get into a car accident trying to fiddle with the thing. Who needs to be that tied to their phone anyway? Also if you decide to remove it breifly then you only have one earing on; that would be annoying.

Well... I think there kind of silly, actually. And it could be hazardous. Anything could catch on to it, or someone could even pull it out... that would hurt. Personally, i understand the concept, but i wouldnt wear them.

Honestly I've always had trouble keeping earbuds in my ears, I blame my mother's poor genetically passed small ears. It's a hassle when trying to jog or sing along to the music and the already painful headphones pop out of my head. However, these clip ons look like they double the pain of ear buds, because now the ear bud is wedged in the ear as well as clipped to the ear lobe. So yeah, maybe the buds won't pop out- but I probably could only wear them for about two minutes before having to end the torment. No thanks Korea...keep em'.

Frankly unless you're a trauma emergency medical professional, no body needs to pick up every phone call. Every call I overhear in public is moronic in extreme. The blue tooths look ridiculous and the older you are the more ridiculous they look.

lets hope they are wireless earphones, so you dont end up ripping your ear.

HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT!!! AS IF IT ISNT BAD ENOUGH THAT THESE POSING LITTLE TWITS SPEND ALL THEIR TIME YAMMERING TO SOME IMAGINARY FRIENDS OR PRETENDING TO BE SOOOOOO IMPORTANT THAT THEY CANT GO WITHOUT A PHONE FOR 10 SECONDS...... ARRRGGGHH.

i LOVE this idea. clip on earrings arent really my thing, but this kind of managable hidden-headphone system is something i've been waiting for a long time. if they started selling them here, i would first at the door to grab a pair.
