Clip-on...Earphones?

Love it or hate it?

There have been many crossovers between fashion and technology. Take for example the Swapsets concept. The idea is to integrate a headset or earphones into a fashionable fabric headband women wear to pull their hair back. They can also add dangles to it, or choose a different fabric to match their outfit. It's a great idea for the fashion conscious divas.

Korea's Aving News has discovered another fashion tech-accessory that has left me cold. Why? Because I can't handle clip-on earrings. They give me headaches, but it may be a great idea for those of you who have managed to overcome the clip-on earring pain.  Earmecca is responsible for such a brave move in earphone fashion. The EP series earring-earphones have an adjustable clip right below the colorful earphone, and the clips are available in ten different designs such as stars, crosses, hearts and pearls.

Sorry gals, they appear to be only available in Korea at the moment, but rest assured these earrings will eventually make their way to the States.

So what do you think? Do you love it or hate?

If it were cordless... I would buy one, especially if it could be used with my cell phone!

Great for hands free driving while talking on the phone--the next step.Jewerly that takes your mind off what you are doing. Who cares that no one is paying attention to the road. A real boost for the insurance companies.

The clips could easily be replaced by pierced earrings.

I guess it's cool, I'd try them, but I do think the whole idea of ripping an ear off for fashion is stupid. Who would want that? But it's the same think as any other earring, or even a facial peircing, theres always going to be the chance that it could get ripped out and cause harm to the wearer. I myself have an eyebrow peircing and let me tell you it hurts a lot if you just give it a little tug, so I think that after one girl gets her hair caught in it, she'll tell everyone she knows to be careful about it and don't let it catch on anything or you'll be in for a world of hurt. And besides if its uncomfortable take it off and give it to someone else no sense in wasting money.

I think I would like to try those- I have never tried clip-on earrings, so I might be able to get used to the discomfort. And they look very fashionable lol. =)

Just another way for people to distance themselves even further from the real world. Every time I go out and see someone alone at a restaurant or something, they are always playing with their phone. I don't understand why people can't get away from technology for an hour and enjoy reality.

What will they think up next. Have they nothing better to do? How about something to get the access water off the streets better when it rains really hard during a large rain storm. Now how about that. U guys figure this one out really soon.

i think its a good AND bad idea. i think its good because it just makes the ear phones more fashonable, and less noticable. but i also think its a bad idea because kids will be able to bring them to school and listen to them in school. i would know because i am in high school, and i have seen kids who try and hide the earphone cord under thier clothes. but this device just makes it easier to listen to thier music and not pay attention in class.

I like them! They just look a like a more streamlined, futuristic set of earphones. I would imagine the clip-on could be loosened since the earphone itself helps keeps it on the ear as well. In recent years in the US, Sony has been making clip-on headphones, ones that don't go inside of the ear like a bud and clip onto the top of ears.

i dont like the idea!! its not fashionable! if ever this will be the new fad in our place, snatchers wont have a problem with getting the earrings! so easy to steal

If they came with a mini wireless receiver, then they'd be useful. Also, then they could be a post type earring because you wouldn't have a cord to pull them out. A mini hearing aid battery could power the thing, with the receiver and battery built into a dangle on the post. It could be much smaller then the Bluetooth phone earset.

I say, if you wear earbuds enough to justify making them a permanent accessory, you need to reassess your life. Whatever happened to human interaction? We're becoming a society of isolationists, not to mention that deafness is going to be epidemic some day.

Good idea but for some, like me, the earbuds are very painful. The best solution I've seen is a custom earmold taken from an impression of your ear by a licensed audiologist or hearing aid dispenser. These earmolds fit securely over the earbud and fit perfectly into your ear canal. They also provide greater clarity and reduce background noise.
