Thinking of getting one of those Asus Eee PCs soon? If you want one in color, you better wait until early 2008 when the lower-endĀ Asus Eee PC 2G Surf makes an appearance in Pure White, Lush Green, Sky Blue, Blush Pink, or Galaxy Black. ThisĀ ultra-portable laptop does not include a webcam, and specs are very weak (2GB SSD, 256MB of RAM?), but at $299, even I'm tempted to get one as a second laptop to surf the web when I'm out.
Reviewers have been praising this mini-laptop, which is designed for kids and novice PC users. Dory Devlin has a good roundup of all the features it includes and those it doesn't. Earlier this week, the Asus Eee 4GB model ($399) began shipping in black and white, but there's no definite word on whether it'll be available in pastels too.
On a side note: Did anyone order and already receive theirs? Reports were circulating that some customers mistakenly got five of them in a small box. Those lucky customers!

If i was 1 of the luky customers who got 5 in a box i would b soo happy- those would be my bak up laptops in case the 1st one breaks!!! :) :)
