CNET UK Reviews Levi's Phone

I wrote about the Levi's phone this past June, but now that it's actually available in European stores, the folks at CNET UK have the first review out. Apparently, this phone is more about style than function, but I guess that should've been expected of a Levi's fashion phone.

In terms of design, CNET UK says the phone has an industrial feel to it with a stainless steel casing featuring a Levi's logo on the back, small screws on the edges, and a chain that can attach to your jeans to protect it from hitting the ground if you drop it. The keypad buttons are very small, and the screen is not big enough to watch videos or display photos. Features include Levi's themed screensavers and icons, a two-megapixel camera, an MP3 player, an FM radio, expandable microSD card, and Bluetooth.

In terms of performance, the digital camera is great for MMS messages, but not for large prints. The music player is very basic, offering an equalizer and shuffle mode. The FM radio lets you record music on radio stations, but you will need to be in an area with good reception. It includes proprietary headphones, but a 3.5mm headphone adapter is included so that you can use your own headphones too.

The reviewers give it a 6.2 rating, concluding the phone isn't bad at all. It's a great handset for fashionistas, but gadget freaks are warned to stay well away. No word on whether this phone will ever come to the U.S., but I'll keep you posted.
