Video games and gaming consoles continue to be in high demand this holiday season. Rock Band, Guitar Hero III, and the Nintendo Wii are three of the most sought-after items right now, but the hardest one to find is still the Wii. It's strange to think there's shortage of Wiis a year after its release, even after a price drop on the other two consoles, but every store online has them out of stock.

Wired posted a few tips on how to score a Wii this Christmas. I know, you probably think it's too late in the game to think about getting a Wii for Christmas, but if you really want one, you might want to keep these tips in mind. Wired suggests going Wii hunting on Sunday mornings when stores release their weekly ads, keeping tabs on future shipments, and as a last resort, going through eBay. You could always try one of the Wii tracker tools available online, such as:

Obviously, these trackers won't always help you find one right away, but some will alert you when stores have them in stock. Like Wired says, finding one online will be a headache, so instead visit your local Target, Circuit City, or Best Buy stores and talk to a manager about things you can do to increase your chances of scoring one.

Last year, one store kept a list of people who were looking for PlayStation 3 consoles, so when they had them in stock on a Sunday morning, the store sold one to the people on the list first. I know, because I happened to be visiting that store that morning, and almost didn't get a PS3 because I wasn't on the list.

The other reason I decided to visit that particular store is because it happens to be in a low-traffic area. It's one of those stores you'd think they'd close by now, because it's always empty, but there it was stocked with plenty of PS3s for at least 60 people. Personally, I'd avoid Craigslist or eBay unless you're desperate and willing to pay over $400 for Wii, but that's just me. Anyone have any useful tips on how to score a Wii this holiday season? Target stores will be selling WII's this Sunday! It is featured in their ad. This is tomorrow!! They do not hold them though, you just have to go and stand in line for them before store opening! and then tickets are handed out to those waiting, if you get a ticket...you have got yourself a WII!! Units vary from 40-150 depending on which store. They are going to fly off the shelves!
