One of the coolest displays I've seen at CES is the Alienware wraparound DLP rear-projection monitor created for gamers looking for more immersive gameplay. The seamless prototype display has a 42.4-inch diagonal screen that curves around you, giving you a gaming experience that could only be reproduced by using three separate monitors.
This curved beauty provides a 3:2:1 contrast ratio, has a response time of .02 millisecond, and a resolution of 2,880 by 900 pixels. Although it looks really flat, if you see it from the front, the curved monitor is a little thick on the back. The display should be available in the second half of 2008, and in case you're wondering about price, well, you'll have to wait a few more months to find out.

those are already out at Best Buy. They even have 22 inches now! Your statement completely destroys any reason to actually want this. It has to stretch to your peripheral ends to make any sense
I want this one just because its Alienware.
This wraparound DLP monitor may be a "curved beauty", but Techie Diva Gina is a curvaceous hottie!
agreed . . . the techie diva's curves may not be "alien" . . . but they are most certainly not of this earth!!!
