World's Biggest White Earbuds...for Your Desk?

Those white earbuds, mostly seen on iPod users, are so last year. Never had a pair of earbuds been so despised, yet so popular. Many have complained that it hurts wearing them, they cause deafness, and make you a target for iJackings, but why do so many people use them? And more importantly, why does Apple still ship them with all of its iPods?

That we may never really know or understand, but we do know the white funny earbuds have become a huge part of our pop culture. So huge, in fact, a company out there decided to magnify the tiny buds 500 times turning them into desktop companions. Fred and Friends says the destop speakers come with a built-in amp, and run on either batteries, AC power, or can be powered through your computer's USB port. They would actually look pretty cool next to your Macbook, but would you really want an oversized pair of earbuds sitting on your desk? If the sound quality is as bad as its tiny counterparts, I'll pass. What about you?
