Red is a beautiful color on gadgets, and it's even more beautiful when the product happens to support a worthy cause. You may remember that back in 2006, Bono launched the (RED) Campaign that brought us some great products like the RED iPod, and the RED RAZR. Those buying either one of these stylish gadgets, were also contributing to the Global Fund who helps fight AIDS in Africa.
This year, Bono teamed up with Dell and Microsoft to introduce a new line of personal computers to support the cause. Earlier this week, the power trio unveiled the XPS M1530 and XPS M1330 (PRODUCT) RED notebooks loaded up with a special (PRODUCT) RED Windows Vista Ultimate edition that have a starting price of $1,149 with $50 of each purchase going directly to the Global Fund.
They also introduced a sexy XPS One desktop computer running the (PRODUCT) RED Windows Vista edition, Adobe Elements Studio, Norton Internet Security Edition, and comes with a wireless mouse and keyboard. It has a starting price of $1,599, with $80 of each purchase going towards the Global Fund. This desktop is actually beautiful, and makes a perfect family computer.
Last, but not least, is Dell's All-in-One 948 printer selling for $149, and making a contribution of $5 per sale to the Global Fund. Nothing too exciting about this printer, but I like the fact that it's affordable and it can fax, scan, copy and print anything. It also has a media card reader, and an optional wireless option. Looks like it currently (as of this post) has a $50 instant savings discount, so you can actually get one for $99 on the Dell website. Nice!
All products are available now in the United States, and will be available soon in other countries before the end of January. Hey, if you're going RED this Valentine's Day, these all may be great options.

I disagree with ekbworldwide's view that our purchases can't help others in need. If you need a new t-shirt, iPod or computer, why not buy one that will contribute in some small way to a worthy cause? Every little bit of financial support surely helps. If money is better spent on basic health or clean water, then by all means, we should do our part to help, but the Red campaign is worthwhile as well, I believe.
