Every year Swanni puts together a list of the best and worst looking actors on high-definition TV. Britney Spears, Brad Pitt, and Dr. Phil were among the top ten HDTV Horribles, while Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, and Justin Timberlake get props for looking flawless in 1080p. But with the popularity of high-definition camcorders and now digital cameras, it won't be long before the average person starts turning to special makeup that helps their skin look picture perfect.
This is where Cargo's new cosmetic line called "blu_ray" hopes to come in (no, this line is not part of Sony's Blu-Ray brand). Cargo says "blu_ray" was designed to provide flawless results because "life happens in high-definition." The limited edition makeup line includes mattifiers, pressed powders, blush highlighters, mascaras, and lip glosses that are specially formulated with ingredients that camouflage imperfections in front of the unforgiving HD camera. For example, the Pressed Power has photochromatic pigments that help color stay consistent under all types of lighting, and the Blush/Highlighter creates an optical blurring that makes skin look softer. You can buy each piece individually or get the blu_ray Collection for $59 at Sephora.
In case you're wondering, this is not the first time cosmetic companies design products for those concerned about high-definition close-ups. Last year Oscar nominees were subjected to airbrush silicone made to match their skin and Clinique put together an HDTV kit with pore minimizer, color correctors, and anti-oxidant serums.

Sort of a sad commentary that we can't stand to look at actual people instead of painted idols.
