We've seen plenty of kitschy gadgets covered in Swarovski crystals, diamonds, and other precious stones, and apparently,
the bling phase we're painfully going through is far from being over. A young
designer has taken a cue from the Philips/Swarovski
collaboration that brought us the Active Crystals USB Memory and created her
own blinding Swarovski crystal concept ring.
The Swarovski
Crystal Engagement Ring is a USB device that can store photos, poems, music,
or other personal media you want to carry with you and share with others. Information
can be transferred between rings or to a computer with the help of the accompanying
play necklace that features a USB port, a mini-USB port, and two sharing ports.
According to designer Jennifer Flume, once the necklace is plugged into a computer, it acts
as a network hub for multiple USB devices. I don't mind the idea of USB jewelry,
but an USB engagement ring for geeks is a bit much.
