The next time you check into a hotel, you might want to ask about its video game events and rentals.

It looks like more and more hotels across the country are making it a game night with Guitar Hero playoffs and room-to-room gaming competitions. Gaming systems like the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360, offer a number of multiplayer games, such as Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Dance Dance Revolution, that can encourage social interaction among guests—and give them a good workout in the process.

USA Today says some hotels chains like the Westin are in talks with Nintendo in hopes of bringing Wii system to more than 150 hotels, while others deliver Wii consoles straight to a guest's room.

Here's a quick glance at what hotels are doing for game-loving guests:

New York's Hotel Gansevoort: Rooms are outfitted with 42-inch plasmas, and will deliver Wii consoles to your room.

Hotel Monaco Seattle: Hosts a Friday social hour with Guitar Hero on the Xbox 360, and plans to introduce Hero Saturdays.

The Conrad Chicago: The hotel has set up "Wii Meeting Breaks" with a stage equipped with fog and flashing lights.

Florida's Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort: During Spring Break, the hotel used a 10-foot screen and hosted DDR and Guitar Hero competitions for teens on the beach.

Hotel Sax Chicago: Teamed up with Microsoft to set up an Xbox Live online game network so guests can play with other guests staying in the hotel. It also set up a lounge where fans of Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and DDR can play free.

Westin Resort St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands: Offers free Wii tournaments.

San Francisco's Best Western Hotel Tomo: The hotel is furnished with a six foot LCD projection screen, a Playstation 3, and a Wii.
