Solar powered devices are everywhere, and Intelligent Form wants to use the
power of the sun to charge your gizmos while you're lounging by the pool.
The SOLo Lounge Table looks very minimal at a glance, but it packs silicon solar cells under its glass surface to harness over 17 kilowatts of solar energy per year, which according to the site is equivalent to 6,300 mobile phone charges, 8,400 digital camera charges, or 168 laptop computers charges per year.
Polls have shown that one in five people pack their laptops when they go on vacation, so I can see how something like this could be useful in hotels, coffee shops, and even in restaurants. The table has a hidden drawer lined with plenty of outlets to charge your gizmos, and surprisingly, this high-tech beauty also features a tabletop LCD display and Bluetooth technology so you can browse through your phone's content on a bigger screen.
The table was recently on display at the Epic Sustainable Living Expo in Vancouver, the largest green consumer show, so hopefully this means we're closer to seeing this green table in the wild.

So what are you supposed to do, pack this thing along with your luggage when you go on vacation? Tommy
Its a great idea, but if it is out in the sun, wouldn't it get too hot to put a laptop on? If it is kept indoors, then the solar pannels will not be generating their maximum output. Unless they put a energy storage battery inside the table, I wouldn't count on it as a way to recharge a laptop. MP3 player, cellphone or PDA maybe, but not a laptop.
All of you have good points. There could be problems with this table. But the concept is awesome! ~from Pau~chan, http://www.TARautism.us.tt/
