I found a really cool mobile application at the Web 2.0 Expo called Tellme,
and absolutely want it for my phone. I love anything that allows you to do local
searches—especially when you're out—and this application makes this easier
to do because everything is initiated with a simple voice command.
Tellme is downloadable mobile application, currently for Blackberry phones, that uses voice recognition to search for the nearest movie theatre, retail store, restaurant or coffee shop all based on your location. You simply press the talk button, say a keyword like "coffee," and wait for a list of coffee shops near you to appear on your screen.
The information displayed will include the address, phone number, driving directions, and the option to share the location with others in your phone book.
When you do a search for movie theatres the results include the option to buy tickets, the movie times, list of new releases, and even movie ratings.
With Tellme, you also get driving directions, traffic conditions, weather, maps, news and more. The service pulls all this information straight from Microsoft's Live Search, Live Search Maps, Fandango and others.
Unfortunately, Tellme is currently only available for Blackberry and Helio phones, but a representative of the company tells me it will eventually be available for other phones in the future. To download the application, just go to m.tellme.com on your mobile's browser and follow the instructions.
You can also call 1-800-555-TELL to search for any business, and get the information sent as a text message to your phone. This is a free service, so save the number if you don't have a Blackberry, and use it the next time you need to do a quick local search.

this seems cool . . . but it is not available for the helio ocean . . .
I have a Motorola c139. This application is really neat, but I can only use it in my dreams (sigh) or maybe on the Blackberry I will get, the problem is that I don't know if I will get it. But I will try the 800 number!

It seems to me that GOOG 411 does exactly the same thing. Check out the demo in google.
