Father's Day is around the corner, so if you haven't done your shopping, you better hurry up and get it done before you have to resort to dinner and movie again. Chris and I gave you a few ideas but if you're looking for something smaller that fits your budget, you might want to head over to Sharper Image to take advantage of some store closing sales.

As you know, the techie store famous for selling chair massagers and novelty gizmos filed for bankruptcy earlier this year as Ben noted. Forbes said the company has sold its remaining assets to an investment group for $49 million, and is now conducting a liquidation sale throughout 86 stores nationwide.

While it's always sad to see brick-and-mortar tech stores close down, part of me can't wait to visit the nearest Sharper Image store in search of a good sale. According to the Sharper Image website, over $50 million of inventory will be sold for 20-40 percent off.

Of course, this comes just in time for Father's Day, so head over to the nearest store closing sale (you can find a list here) and get Dad a something he'll enjoy on Father's Day. Who knows, maybe you can finally get him that robotic Elvis head he always wanted.

I just recently heard about Sharper Image planning this liquidation sale, I also heard when they filed bankruptcy they left some of their very best employees without their severance packages. These employees had been with the Fortune 500 company for close to 20 years. Shame on you Sharper Image, you should take that money from your liquidation sale and pay the hard working employees you left out in the cold. If I knew then what I know now, I would never have shopped at Sharper Image. That's just wrong and greedy. I hope some of the higher ups past and present, in the company read this. A consumer
