JVC introduces dual-docking iPod station

I have three iPods (in addition to my iPhone) which tends to drive my husband a little crazy because the two power strips in our office are now full and he refuses to add a third one. I can't blame him, so I've been looking for ways to free up some space on the power strips to keep him happy.

Recharging stations are great, but I think Engadget spotted a neat solution from JVC that would allow me to get rid of my desktop stereo and two iPod chargers all at once.

The dual-docking station called the NX-PN7 will charge two iPods or iPhones at the same time and play music from both devices. Despite being only 13-inches wide, the small station has big speakers, an AM/FM tuner, an auxiliary input for your other music players, and a video output for your iPod.

It also comes with a clock, so you can keep it next to your bed, and a little mood lighting that can change colors. The iPod dual-docking station is currently available online and retails for $150.

This isn't the first iPod dual docking station. Earlier this year, I spotted Griffin's PowerDock at Macworld which can charge two to four iPods at the same time depending on the model you get. They're a lot cheaper, but they don't include the built-in stereo option, which is nice to have.

Why do you need 3 iPods AND and iPhone?! That is just way to much. And whats the point of the speakers? Can't you just play the music off of your iTunes?

Thanks alpyne2 for your comment. Actually two of my iPods are gifts and are engraved so that's why I keep them, and I use the smaller iPod nano for the gym. Plus it's nice to have a dedicated iPod for my car. But you're right, these things accumulate over time, especially when you're in my line of work. I've given away a lot of my gadgets because I don't use them, but I have a hard time getting rid of my iPods. ;)
