The official word is the iPhone App Store is launching on July 11, but some of us are hoping Apple will launch it at least a day early in order to give consumers a few days to  preview the 4,000+ widgets expected to be available at launch.

PosiMotion is one of the companies that will be launching a suite of iPhone and iPod Touch applications that revolve around navigation. Its G-Spot application basically turns your iPhone into a GPS by utilizing the iPhone's Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity to track your whereabouts, thus allowing you to share your location with others via email. This application uses a compass to track your latitude and longitude, as well as speed, altitude, date and time of previous locations.

I personally like G-Park, which keeps track of where you parked your car. Once you arrive at your destination, you simply hit the Park Me! button, and let the program keep turn-by-turn directions that'll lead you back to your car when you're ready to leave. Something like this should come in handy when you travel or park in large parking lots.

PosiMotion also plans to launch a social network called G-Life, a mobile GPS network router, and a handful of games such as Solitaire and Backgammon. Both G-Spot and G-Park will be selling for about $1.99.

Another app for the iPhone is iLOCi2! It is a people finding app that allows you to send REQUESTS to people on your contact list of their location. Highlight the word "request" because unlike it's competitor "Loopt," it gives you the option as to whether or not you want to be located. Parents have been raving about it. Co-workers love it. Young adults love it because it saves money on texting and calls to meet up with friends. I use it to mark the location of my car when I park it. It's an amazing app that is being downloaded all over the world! To find out even more, go to www.locimobile.com. I LOCi. Do you LOCi 2?
