Samsung gets YouTube friendly with SC-MX10 camcorder

Most of the pocket camcorders out today come with a YouTube uploading functionality, which is really not a bad thing for people who don't know much about converting video to small Web files. Creative's Vado, Pure Digital's Flip Video , and RCA's Small Wonder camcorders are great pocket camcorders for the casual user, but anything over $100 in this category is way too expensive.

Then we have pocket camcorders that can do HD recording. These are also good, but I've personally had some issues with them. HD camcorders have really come down in price, and these days you don't have to compromise too much for HD quality video you can upload to YouTube.

Samsung actually just announced the upcoming release of its SC-MX20, the successor to the company’s popular SC-MX10 compact digital camcorder. The SC-MX20 is made with YouTubers in mind, so it features a customized recording mode so you can upload videos quickly and efficiently for sharing. This Web & Mobile mode automatically adjusts video settings so you can also export videos that play on your iPod. 

It normally records in a 720x480 resolution, features a powerful Schneider lens with 34x optical zoom, noise reduction technology, image stabilization, and face detection. Thanks to an SD/SDHC slot, you get to determine how much recording time you have left. Samsung says an 8GB memory card equals to four hours, a 16GB memory card will record for eight hours, and a 32GB memory card can store up to 16 hours of footage.

You'll find the SC-MX20 in four colors starting next month which include red, blue, silver and black for a retail price of $279.
