Nintendo Wii fans have been known to spend a lot of time personalizing their very own Mii characters, that once done, they go out of their way to create custom sculptures, websites, cake toppers, shirts, even chocolate. As if that wasn't enough, it looks like Nintendo has launched a service in Japan that gives Wii consoles extra functionality so users there can print business cards with their Mii avatar.

Crunchgear spotted a very brief report on Reuters that says Nintendo and Fujifilm have teamed up to bring Wii owners a new online photo service that lets users upload images to a new Photo Channel via the Wii's SD card slot. With this service, Wii owners can create small photo books, business cards, and individual prints using the Wii interface and then have the prints sent to their home.

The business card feature looks like a really neat idea since users will be able to choose a background of their favorite Mario Cart character and use their Mii photo on the card instead of their own. You can watch a Japanese trailer of the service here (although you won't understand what they're saying) which gives you a good idea of what to expect. No word on whether this photo service will also launch in the U.S., but I seriously don't see why it wouldn't. I'll keep you posted on any developments.
