I really liked Giffin's
Evolve Wireless Speakers so I was pleased to hear Sony is releasing a similar
product that works with the iPod Touch and iPhone. Called the S-Air Play AIR-SA20PK,
this multi-room wireless audio system includes two speakers that deliver music
to any room up to 164 feet away, and a docking station that also charges your
iPod.
Both the dock and speakers plug into a power outlet, unlike Giffin's Evolve, which is wireless in every way except for the dock. Additional speakers can be purchased to simultaneously stream your tunes to up to 10 rooms in your house, and the best part is each speaker comes with a remote control so you can control your iPod from any room.
Although both the S-Air Play and Evolve are both wireless speaker systems for the iPod, the S-Air Play seems to have a few more cool capabilities like FM Radio, multi-zone capability that lets you listen to the iPod in one speaker and the FM radio on the other, and audio/video out connections that lets you play any video content stored on your iPod on your television.
The S-Air Play Music System will sell for $399 at the Sony Style store once it goes on sale next month, so keep an eye on it if you've been dying to go wireless.
