Going abroad but want to keep surfing the Web and checking your email on your
iPhone? Not to worry.
USA Today says AT&T is now offering two more international data plans
for iPhone users. The company already had two affordable plans in place, but
has since increased the amount of data users can use per month.
As you might remember from Ben's post here, AT&T introduced the 20 MB package ($25/mo) and the 50 MB package ($60/mo) back in 2007, and has now added a 100 MB package ($120/mo) and 200 MB package ($200/mo). You obviously will need to have an iPhone with a voice and data plan to enroll in the program, but this might save you thousands if you forget to change your data roaming settings while abroad (hopefully you already have the latest iPhone update which automatically does this for you).
The good news here is these plans don't require a long-term commitment; the bad news is you can't make any voice calls unless you download some sort of VoIP service to your iPhone. Apparently, the data plans work in 67 countries including Australia, Greece, Poland and the United Kingdom.
Remember, if you're going overseas it's probably best to follow these tips.
