The Kindle and Sony's eReader have been making the headlines for some time,
but Plastic Logic is about to steal the spotlight by launching an electronic
reading device that will support newspapers, books, and periodicals. The
company's website says the e-reader measures 8.5 x 11-inches and is as thin
as a pad of paper. Not only will business types be able to read the newspaper
on their way to work, but they'll also be able to pull up Word, Excel and Powerpoint
documents as well.
Apparently, the e-reader has a gesture-based user interface, and includes software
tools to help business users organize their information. The device allows you
to download content wirelessly, will update several times per day, has a long
battery life, and can store thousands of documents just like Kindle does. I've
been dying to buy an e-reader, but pricing has been the main deterrent so I'm
hoping this device costs less than the Kindle when it rolls out. The Plastic
Logic reader is schedule to ship in the first half of 2009, and will be on display
at the CES convention. Can't wait to try it out.

Ms. Hughes, I doubt that this will cost less than Kindle or SONY's reader, it's a new technology...
I am excited for this product, but I love my Kindle 2 dearly, I got it for free from here: http://www.computersncs.com/rd_p?p=191614&t=9544&a=27619-skindle&gift=27619

Certainly don't waste your money on a Sony e-Reader, it is extremely difficult to read under various lighting conditions. I feel I wasted my money!! I, too, am anxious to see what this new product looks like and what it will sell for.
