Toast printers are nothing new, but the Scan Toaster printer concept design by Sung Bae Chang is different because it can print images and text onto a single piece of toast. The small printer, which is about the size of CD case, connects to a computer via USB cable and can download just about anything you see online so you can personalize your toast with pictures, logos, news, and weather.

The design was a finalist in the Electrolux Design Lab competition which focused on creating appliances for the future iGeneration. Other finalists in the Electrolux Design competition included the a Wi-Fi basket that's both a hamper and a washing machine, a desk-drawer hotplate fridge, and a social networking recipe generator. I doubt we'll ever see any of these products in stores anytime soon, but it's fun to see new concepts and consider the things we can do with technology.
