The last thing we all need is another iPod dock, but if you're looking for
one Altec Lansing's moodance GLOW seems like a good choice if you also want
an alarm clock with FM radio. I saw this at CTIA and thought the wireless snooze
button included was a cool gimmick. Instead of looking for the snooze button
on the dock, you just hit the big wireless button which you can place anywhere
in the room. This oversized snooze button also pauses the music on the iPod so you can
take calls without all that noise in the background.
Another fun option is the multicolor mood lighting that illuminates the back
of the dock, which you can turn off or leave on to set the mood. The dock also
has auxiliary inputs so you can use the speakers with other media players, FM
radio, a remote control, dual alarms, and it supports most iPods including the
iPod touch. The dock will retail for $180 when it launches sometime next month.

Why do these companies only make this stuff for iPod? What about those of us who have other mp3 players?

This one looks pretty nice. My son had a hard time finding an iPod dock for college because he wanted AM/FM clock radio features and a CD player - not all music is played from electronic files . . .
