There was a time when only the cool techie hotels would install flat screen TVs and gaming consoles in their rooms, but that has quickly changed over the last couple of years. If you're heading to a Marriott or Renaissance Hotel in New York City, Boston, Maryland, or Phoenix you might want to ask the front desk if they already have Wii guest rooms or lounges before packing your own console.

According to Kotaku, both Nintendo and Marriott have teamed up to offer guests a special in-room Wii service that includes an on-demand game library of over 20 titles, and a built-in Wii gaming system. With this system, you'll be able to select games from the library with your Wiimote, instead of renting them out at the front desk. Only a handful of Wii guest rooms will be available at over six pilot hotels for an extra fee, with more to come in the future we hope.

The hotel chain says it will be adding new games to its library as soon as they're released, but in the meantime, you'll be able to play Wii classics such as Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, and Super Mario Galaxy. There's no word as to whether the TVs will be insured or protected with Wii shields so make sure you wear a double wrist strap just in case. In case you missed it, here is a list of hotels currently offering Wii suites.
