Apple products are hot sellers during the holiday season, but this year with
the weak economy and all, Apple is "expected to be more aggressive than
usual in its one-day sale," according to Barclay's analyst Ben
Reitzes who thinks Apple will at least offer a $100 discount on a few Mac models. Hopefully, this means we'll see lower prices on iPods, and iPhones too on Black Friday.
Apple has not published any Black Friday ads or even announced plans of a one-day sale, but Reitzes points out French iPhone carrier Orange will be lowering the price on the 8GB iPhone 3G to 99 euros (currently 149 euros) during the holidays, so maybe AT&T will do the same in the U.S.
Apple Insider also points out Apple's 2008 Back-to-School promotion was the best one yet due to the free $299 iPod touch included with every qualifying Mac purchase. Lets hope Apple gives back a little something to its loyal customers during the holidays because I for one need a new iPhone.
I'll be keeping an eye on this story, and will update you once we get closer to Black Friday.
