Are you an out of work journalist or blogger? If you are, Six Apart wants to help you with a free blogging account. For a limited time, the company will be running a promotion it calls the TypePad Journalist Bailout Program that includes a free pro account subscription (worth $150 annually), blog promotion on Blogs.com, and professional tech support.

The New York Times says only 20 to 30 journalists will be accepted to the program out of the hundreds that have already applied. All they have to do to be considered is send Six Apart a link to their last published article. The site doesn't say how long this bailout program will last, except that it will be soon, so submit your work.

I've used Typepad in the past and I can tell you this blogging platform is easy to use and doesn't require any complicated installation. It can be a little limited because you don't have server access, but I think it's perfect for new bloggers.
