Give Your MacBook Cool Feet

I love inexpensive accessories that make life just a little sweeter. When I got my MacBook Pro, the darn thing got so hot, I had to purchase an expensive Antec Notebook cooler ($40) just to keep my laptop from frying itself. The ad said the cooler was "quieter than a whisper", but I have to disagree here. The thing is so annoying, I have to unplug it once in a while. That's gotta be the most frustrating downside to these necessary laptop coolers.

You can't ditch these coolers either, because an overheated laptop means it will freeze up, automatically shut down or worse you could fry your system for good. The Coolhunting guys turned me on to Cool Feet, a set of peg-legs that attach to the bottom of your Mac like little feet, hence the name.  Each set includes two tall feet, two short feet and a carrying pouch for about $13. It raises your laptop to three different positions, plus it angles your keyboard for a more comfortable, ergonomic feel. Although the tiny feet attach to the bottom of your laptop with adhesive pads, they easily pop off when you need to take it on the road.

These things eliminate three things: loud coolers, overheated systems, and spending too much money. Hallelujah!

Gina: How can you reattach them once you remove them? Is there some velcro or the like? I would think that regular adhesive would be ruined by too many on/offs. Thanks! Miles

I believe they re-attach via suction cup. The site makes mention of suction cups on their homepage. http://www.cableyoyo.com/coolfeethome.html
