Revenge of the Hollaback Girls

I like this new digi-vigilante way women are fighting back against street sexual harassment. HollabackNYC was founded by ladies who were inspired by Thao Nguyen; a woman who posted a camera phone picture on Flickr hoping someone would recognize the man that harassed her on the subway. Daily News ran the picture on their front page and the man was identified and charged for public lewdness. Now girls everywhere are fighting back by whipping out their camera phone to "Hollaback" and sharing their story on this photoblog for the whole world to see. The site says their goal is to "expose and combat street harassment as well as provide an empowering forum in this struggle." If you think street harassment is nothing to be concerned about, think again. Some of the stories on this blog are real, offensive, and very disturbing. Share your story. Do you think this is an effective method of fighting back?
