HDTV Makeup Tips

You may remember my post on Best and Worst Looking Celebs on HDTV a few weeks ago, entirely based on Swanni's 2006 HDTV list. Swanni named Scarlett Johansson as the "star worth a thousand looks," while Rosie O'Donnell was the worst-looking celebrity on high-definition television. A lot of commenters didn't agree with the picks, and thought it wasn't fair that all HD hotties happened to be young, while the HD uglies were well over the hill.

While age certainly makes a difference in how a person's skin looks, a daily beauty regimen and light makeup are also a must. And just because you're not a Hollywood actress doesn't mean you don't have to worry about high-definition TV. On the contrary, high-definition camcorders are already on the market, and it won't be long before most camcorders are HD ready. That means we have to worry about every wrinkle, pock mark, and shadow, too.

The gals over at GadgetCandy caught up with makeup artist Jane Bradley, taking note of popular HD trade secrets.  Jane says, "A good canvas for make-up is very important. That means doing all the 'boring stuff,' like drinking lots of water as well as looking after your skin by going for facials and the like." She also recommends less makeup, less of the right products, swapping powders for creams, and blending makeup better to give a more sheer finish.

Finally, she says Clinique has launched an 'HDTV kit' that includes its Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector serum, and a High-Definition Lashes mascara. A friend of mine, who also is a makeup artist for models, recommends MD Skincare daily face peels, which I've been using every other day, and they have helped me get rid of blotchy skin.
