Blogging, podcasting, vlogging, and now gloggling. I don't get it either, but there's a whole Glogger Community out there. Since I like to keep myself abreast of the latest "trend" in technology, even if it's a very odd trend like Roomba cockfighting, I decided to investigate the matter further.
What is glogging? "A CyborgLog (aka glog) is a first-person recording of an activity, in which the person recording is also a participant." Basically, the Glogger wears a camera to continuously capture and upload images to a server without any real effort from the user, or so says James Fung.
There seems to be actual purposes for this type of activity connected to medical purposes and other research, so it's not all in the name of fun. But I'm guessing the Glogger community is using this project as a social experiment.
Users from all over the world can upload images from their Nokia or Sony Erricsson phones to create a visual diary. You'd have to download a free application at Eyetap.org to start glogging from your cell phone.
The difference between a mobile blog (moblog) is that the images are being captured by a wearable mobile device, updating a website frequently and instantly.
This may be the next step above all the other mediums currently available, and may mean big business for the "Heartbeat Hoodie" that records images according to your increased heart rate.
So there you have it. We learned a new word for the day, and a new trend.

Hi Gina, We've just updated the freely available Glogger service and program: http://glogger.eyetap.org/about.php Glogger can now allow users to broadcast live cameraphone pics and video to *ALL* their friends on social networking sites, blogs, and personal pages. We've also added a storyboard feature to allow users create personal comics with their content that they can share with others. --Dan
