Flat-panel displays, whether LCD or plasma, look beautiful in any home. But anyone who has mounted one on their precious wall will tell you it's not easy making it look so seamless. Ever wonder how they hide those unsightly wires? Well, it requires a nasty hole in the wall to run the wires to the other side of the room. Installation can be a pain.
So I stopped by the Samsung booth to find out more about the wireless plasma everyone's talking about and to give you the scoop on the first generation of wireless TVs. Samsung's FP-T5894W has no wires, and it transmits wireless signals to an AV center that requires an 802.11n connection. The only wire you'll have to plan around is the one that powers the plasma itself. Resolution is at 1080p, with a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. You'll be able to connect the AV center to your PC, DVD, cable box, and Blu-ray player if you have one.
A 58-inch wireless plasma television is expected to arrive some time at the end of 2007, and the 58-inch model will retail for $5,799. CNet voted it one of the best in the show.

wow! I'd just be worried about failure of the wireless signal.Nothing is as reliable as an actual wire connection, but it's so ugly! Sounds promising!
