LCD technology is everywhere! In a couple of years, entertainment will play an even bigger part of our lives as LCD screens become more commonplace in our homes, hotels, workplaces, and schools. I could definitely get used to waking up to a television implanted in my bathroom mirror and a huge plasma in the bedroom—thanks to a recent stay in a nicely outfitted hotel in Las Vegas that spoiled my senses.

No doubt LCD screens in cars are a wonderful commodity, especially if you'd rather drive than fly a few times a year. I was happy to stumble upon Sharp's latest LCD technology. The company showed off its 8-inch Triple Directional Viewing LCD as opposed to the Dual Directional View LCD I saw last year. Imagine being able to watch three different shows on the same screen.

Yes, this means every person in the backseat can enjoy a different program on the same LCD screen, while the driver can follow GPS directions from the front seat. The prototype model on display was impressive, until you get too close to the screen to notice images on top on one another. I suppose you have to be a few steps back to ignore the intermingling. I still dig the technology, and hope they eventually perfect it. Obviously, this technology is still in development in Asia, although they tell me some passengers there are already enjoying it.
