If you own an iPod, here's another reason to hold off on that Windows Vista upgrade. Apparently, iTunes users have reported a series of issues between iTunes and the new Windows operating system. Some of more serious issues reported include possible corruption of the iPod even when "safely" ejecting it from the Windows System Tray, iTunes Store purchases may not play on Vista, and iPod models with the "Enable Disk Use" option turned off may be unable to update or restore iPod software, as well as make changes to iPod settings.
Apple is now recommending iTunes users wait a few weeks for the release of the new iTunes before upgrading to Vista, which they hope will address most of these compatibility issues. If you've already updated your operating system or bought a Windows Vista PC, they recommend you do the following:
If that doesn't work, try running the iTunes Repair Tool for Vista after re-installing iTunes 7.0.2. You can find more information regarding this topic on the Apple support site.

Apple has had plenty of time to work with Vista and iTunes. I know that Microsoft has had beta versions of Vista available for over a year to test software with. This is just sloppy workmanship on Apple's side.
