NBA's Dwayne Wade Limited Edition Sidekick 3

The Sidekick 3 was launched in July, and since its release, limited edition Diane Von Furstenberg and Lifted Research Group (LRG) designer handsets have emerged. So I thought a third designer hiptop was very unlikely, I was wrong.

Earlier this month, I heard rumors that T-Mobile was launching a Limited Edition Dwyane Wade Sidekick 3, and the rumors have been confirmed. Expect to see the $399 hiptop, or ($299 with 2-yr contract) at most T-Mobile stores starting February 21.

The young Miami Heat basketball player picked out every detail of the design including the white/gold color motif, the highlighted number three on the keypad (his jersey number), and even the feel of the phone. He tells Gizmodo he wanted the design to be different: 

"I wanted to find a way to put my name and stuff on it and not be too much. I got the gold threes around on the front part and the screen part. I got my name and my silhouette of myself on the back of the screen, but the most important thing to me was probably, if you pick one up and see the back, it is different, it is more like a basketball kind of material".

As you may already know, the slimmed-down Sidekick 3 features a redesigned QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 player, Bluetooth, EDGE technology, and this one has a complete look and feel.
