Happy Wednesday to those of you who'd rather not be reminded that today is the day when you won't find a decent table at any local restaurants or even a parking spot outside the neighborhood grocery store because everyone is making a mad dash to buy candy and flowers. Face it, Valentines Day is the one holiday we all dread. Consumers are bombarded with ads that beckon them to order those red flowers online, pick-up a box of cherry-filled chocolates on the way home, or even to buy their honey expensive jewelry, all in the name of love.
Judging by your comments in my Valentine's Day gift suggestions, most of you agree on one thing: Valentine's Day is a day when consumerism should be left at the door. So I'd like to point you to a site created by a couple of grumpy singles, who like you, think Valentines Day is a "sickly-sweet, exclusively coupley, consumerist nonsense or otherwise a bit naff."
Because this holiday can take a toll on even the most romantic sap, Meg Pickard and David Pannet created an alternative card-sending service called Be My Anti-Valentine. Their advice: "Don't say it with flowers, say it with bile" Ouch.
My favorite snarky message?
"This is just to let you know that although I always say that Valentine's Day is stupid and meaningless and commercial and all that, if you don't get me something really nice, I'm going to go into a massive huff for weeks and tell all my friends how utterly crap you are and they'll glare at you witheringly every time they see you for at least the next six months."
The cards are free, but they do welcome donations that will help support this fun anti-Valentine's Day movement. So head on over to the site, if you need a good laugh today.
Happy Anti-Valentine's Day!

Gina, love, sound like you don't have a valentine sweet heart.Just kiss the one you love,or like.Trust me;itis a good gift. Anyway, I think you're hot with the smile and everything. there, I said it, is out there! Bye.
LMAO! Gina, I always figured you would be somebody I would enjoy hangin' out with, but after checking out this site, that's now confirmed. I hate being told we're expected to spend money to show our love on a particular day...it just seems to mean so much more, if somebody does the same things, any other day of the year, because they want to...not because they're expected to. That being said, I agree with BB...I'd be your Valentine any day of the year! You're a hottie in my book. WinkWink...
Jesus is my favorite valentine. I have dedicated a website to Jesus. http://www.blessedtoys.com/members/servant4u/ Jesus loves you so much that He died on the cross for your sins. There is no greater love than this.Jesus is the only true love that will never leave you or forsake you.
just now to bother u too much i didn't work last year do i have to file taxes ? mcrick2005
