This young generation is really plugged into trends online and off. Helio first connected young trendsetters to MySpace, and is now adding a few more choices to the Helio WAP deck. Helio's new slider-phone, dubbed The Heat, promises to bring Boing Boing, Digg, Metroblogging, and Wikipedia to the phone's WAP deck for easy access. I personally think they should've added Yahoo! Tech into the mix, but maybe next time, right?
I love how this slider-phone looks a lot slimmer and more elegant than past models, including the one I reviewed a few months ago too. Designed by Samsung, The Heat is available in two colors: onyx and shimmering gold. The exterior touchpad is said to be highly responsive to the touch of a simple tap, which reminds me a lot of the Chocolate phone. The Heat packs a 1.99 inch high-resolution QVGA display with landscape mode, Bluetooth support, 136MB of internal memory, MP3, MPEG-4 and VOD support, as well as built-in GPS capabilities. It's available through Helio for about $150. I'm hoping to get my hands on one soon, to bring you a more detailed review.
