Wow, this is my 581st post of the year, and I'm about to take my first real vacation from the site since Yahoo! Tech started up in May. I'll be back (along with the rest of the bloggers) on January 2 as we gear up for our onslaught of CES coverage.
Since you won't get your daily fix of Null during Christmas week, here's a quick look back at some of my most read, most commented, and personal favorite posts of the year. As always, feel free to send in any tech questions you have to prime the pump for 2007. (The "Email Christopher" is to your left and down.)
So, without further ado, here they are, in chronological order:
Null's Greatest Hits of 2006
$100 Laptop - Your Thoughts? - Posted on day one, back when I was writing much shorter posts. Now the $100 laptop is here.
Can't Sleep? You Might Be a Geek! - Blame society for your insomnia.
A Painless Way to Recycle Electronics - I was not trying to suggest you should always pay people to take your old electronics away, but my post was widely misconstrued. The point is: Recycle, any way you can. Drop stuff off at Goodwill, or pay to ship it elsewhere, whatever works for you!
Life with a Freebie Office Suite - In half a year of use, OpenOffice has proven to have a few holes for me, but the price sure is right.
How to Score a First Class Upgrade - Apparently, lying to an airline is bad. Of course, they lie to us all the time about when we're really going to take off, but that's another story...
Buying a Cheap PC: What to Look For - I still get mail about this series. See also Midrange PC advice.
Wi-Fi Security Made Easy - Another great resource (IMHO) to bookmark.
Blu-ray and HD-DVD: What You Need to Know - You still probably don't need to buy either one.
Debunking Mac's Self-Created Ad Hype - Nothing angers a Mac fan liking making fun of their advertisements. Some guy actually wrote a blog post attempting to debunk my debunking!
For the 4th: How to Photograph Fireworks - Fun any time anything blows up.
Hands On: T-Mobile Sidekick 3 - I thought the comments on this review was crazy...then I reviewed the LG Chocolate and the Treo 700wx. Yow.
10 Commandments of Cell Phone Etiquette - I'd like to add: PR people shalt not call me before 8 a.m.
2GB of Free Online Backup? Yes! - How many times have I told you to back up your files? Lots.
Happy 25th Birthday to the PC - Now 25 1/4 years old.
How Much Is Windows Vista Really Worth? - It was kind of a joke, folks.
Apple iPod vs. the World: Which MP3 Player Is Best? - Still no consensus.
Who Really Has the Largest Cellular Network? - If the comments are any guide, everyone hates their cellular carrier.
Winners in the Apple Rumor Pool - I called it.
How to Pick a Wireless Carrier - "Flip a coin" is not one of the tips.
Copying from Audio Tape to Audio CD? - New Year's resolution: Ditch cassettes for good.
Hands-on Review: Firefox 2.0 - Also see my review of Internet Explorer 7.
Help for a Slow PC - Gentle encouragement does no good.
How to Revive a Wet Cell Phone - Seems a lot of people are spending a lot of time in the drink.
The Disposable, Simple Email Address - When spam comes knocking, fight back. (More disposable email address options here.)
How to Create an Emergency Kit for Your Car - With 1,500 comments (and counting), my most commented story ever. I've gotten so much feedback I'll be doing a follow-up post with additional and updated gear after the holidays—2,000 comments or bust!
That ought to keep you busy for a week. If not, feel free to let me know in the comments section what you'd like to see more (or less) coverage of in 2007. Catch ya on the flip side.
Join in the discussion. Here you'll see the comments in the order they were posted.

Thanks for your Top-25 Chris! I liked your last pick "disposable simple email address" .. Also noticed that you were upbeat on Craigsnumber as a parallel for disposable phone numbers in your blog the other day! Happy 2007, and happy hunting in 2007 for the rare winners :) Anita
