Gosh, the high-def DVD battle seems like it ended years ago (in reality: Februrary 2008), but, believe it or not, it seems like the fight still continues. The strangest news of the week comes from UK's Financial Times, which reveals that HD DVD is still selling strongly, with thousands of titles on the market being snapped up at bargain prices.
Blame drastic price cuts for the continued interest in HD DVD as the players and media are sold off in fire sale mode. Discs can cost as little as $10 (cheaper than a comparable DVD even) and players can be found as cheaply as $60 or less.
Online retailer Buy.com says that "HD DVD sales are still very strong" and even intimates that continued interest in the now-defunct platform may be cutting into Blu-ray sales, where a "huge increase in sales... just hasn't happened."
One distributor says that he's sold about a million HD DVD discs that were returned after Toshiba called it quits earlier this year and expects to sell up to three million more before Christmas.
Of course, prices and inventory like this won't last forever. We're dealing with a finite resource (not including used HD DVDs, that is) that will eventually dry up. But because no new titles are being released on HD DVD, the overstock market will eventually go the way of Sega Genesis game titles: The dollar racks at Half.com. Get 'em while they're, um... hot?

You forgot the most important tip - dont stand over the fireworks expecting to catch a firecracker (or M80) exploding on the ground, or a bottle rocket or roman candle as they launch.
Good article. I think I'll try some of this stuff with my A590IS. Another tip for those whose camera does not have those settings, if it is a Cannon, try the CHDK firmware. http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK It adds a ton of extra features including the ones mentioned in this article (rapid fire, long exposures, etc).
