Don't know how Styles work? Don't understand how to make a table of contents for your document? Tables an absolute mystery to you?
You're not alone if you haven't mastered to more arcane aspects of Microsoft Word, a venerable yet tricky and poorly documented piece of software.
Mastering the application takes months or years, enough time for Microsoft to invariably update the program and change everything you'd already learned. The good news is that, even if you want to become an expert, you needn't learn every nook and cranny of the various menus. In fact, the bloggers at General Disarray have identified a mereĀ ten things you should know: Stuff beyond how to use spell check and the thesaurus.
In addition to answering the three questions above, you'll also learn how to master line and page breaks, create cross references, and master lists. Some handy keyboard shortcuts are also included, but none of this is overwhelming. You should be able to breeze through it on your lunch break.
