I love the Bluetooth speakerphone in my car (and in California, it's the law that I have to use it), but I hate it when the battery runs down. When that happens, I have to take it down from the visor, plug it in to the cigarette lighter adapter, and leave it in the passenger seat -- usually for several hours of driving -- while it charges up again.

It's fine unless someone else is riding with me up front... or if I actually get a call, which becomes an awkward game of fumbling for the controls to answer the phone.

Kensington's solution? Make the battery removable and include a spare in the box.

The Kensington Hands-Free Visor Car Kit features a button that ejects the battery in one quick step, no cover plates to deal with. Just replace it immediately with the spare battery you have plugged into your cigarette adapter, and plug in the dead power cell in its place. You're out of commission for a matter of seconds, and once the replacement battery dies, the formerly-dead one will have long since been recharged.

Other features include three speed dial buttons (no caller ID, alas), a noise-canceling microphone, and support for pairing up to three cell phones.

Available now for $120.

I'll stick with a bluetooth headset... At least the spam here isn't as bad as some of the other places I visit on a daily basis.

The feature has made the product even more useable.
