How to Find the Best Discounts at Amazon

If you're an Amazon junkie like me, you'll find this tip difficult to pass up: It's a simple method that lets you find only the products on Amazon with the absolute biggest discounts—70, 80, 90 percent off...nice!

The trick involves merely adding a tiny piece of code to the URL on any page of search results. The code looks like this: &pct-off=40- [copy and paste it for best results]

Just change the "40" in that example to be the minimum amount of discount you want. You'll know you've gone too far when you get zero results. (Rest assured this isn't illegal or unethical. Amazon just doesn't have a simple way to search for these discounts, which represent regular pricing, not anything hidden or secret.)

The code doesn't work with every search. I've noted that it doesn't work at all with the DVD section, for example.

If the hassle of pasting code is a bother for you, check out this page, which has the major sections broken down with discount codes for 10 to 90 percent. (Again, some links may not work.)

Give it a spin! I've been barely resisting the urge to stock up on deep discount electronics all morning long.

Amazon UK seems to have a different URL format and the code doesn't appear to work. Sorry!

My favorite site for finding discounts at Amazon is jangle.net You can sort products by discount amount, price, popularity, even user rating. It's simple to use and searchable as well. http://www.jangle.net

For an easier way to do this, check out http://www.jungle-search.com to search Amazon.com by keyword, category, subcategory, percent off, brand name, price range and more. This site is definitely worth a look.
