You've only got a few hours to kill at the show this year? Here's what you should see with your own eyes, if at all possible. If you can't catch the Seven Wonders of the World, don't miss the Five Wonders of CES.

Sharp's 108-inch LCD (pictured) - The biggest flat-panel TV in the world is no longer a plasma but an LCD, though Sharp's 1920 x 1080-pixel custom-rigged monster has met with some iffy reviews. The 100-inch LCD from LG looks a lot, ahem, sharper. (Alas, neither are actually for sale in the real world.)

Asus XG Station - The first ever external video card, designed for letting graphics-limited laptops play high-end 3D games. It works.

SanDisk Sansa Connect - The coolest new MP3 player on the show floor. It takes the wirelessness of the Zune and does it less stupidly: You share files via a subscription to a music service (not yet announced) instead of via an ad hoc network. It's the size of a business card, stores 8GB of tunes, has real-time Internet radio, and more. The SanDisk booth is ridiculously busy, be warned.

LG Total DVD Player - Sure, it's not much to look at, but this $1,200 player that can handle both HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs could be the first shot in the war to end the high-def standards slapfight.

Yahoo! Go - Hey, had to plug the mothership. The Yahoo! Mobile Search stuff is cool, but if you come by the Yahoo! booth, you can get a free ice cream cone, complete with candy mix-ins and everything. It's like a gadget you can eat. Wave to your Yahoo! Tech staff, operating out of the back of the Yahoo! booth!

Of course that's just the tip of the iceberg. Rest assured, all the Yahoo! Tech bloggers will be covering much more cool gear for the next three days. Check our full coverage here!

OK so anyone care to elaborate for me? So I got a sansa 4.0 GB model e280 and its pretty nice, I was sceptic at first but ive grown to accept it So what makes the sansa connect any better than the one I have, ruleing out it is 8.0GB while mine is the basic sansa with 4.0GB.

I cant believe people actually pay for music for use with mp3 players. I also cant believe that people bought into the RI sceheme to convine the public that they would prosecute downloaders. Screw the recording industry and all the senators they give head to as well.

The Sharp is 1080p resolution, at least this was the sign I saw on it. As far as the the Sansa was concerned the Rhapsody boot was promoting the Sansa and Rhapsody partnership so I would say that might the musical service in question. First look showed subscription rates of 10 an 14 dollars a month plus some download fees (variable up to 89 cents a song again at a passing look).

This is a reply to aneilkas1. Sure the price will go down considerably. But that happens with everything. If we all waited for prices to go down on electronics, we'll never buy anything. There will always be new technology right around the corner.

I can't see why anyone would want an MP3 player. Does everyone that uses them play the same songs over and over and over and over? Sounds like a tape recorder to me. If it can't get AM and FM or ALL radio I have no use for one. Where would you come up with new music, ideas and news. I even tried Sirius. After a year I had heard all the songs and jokes three times( or moreeeeeee) and could not get local news or music I wanted to hear. It is in a drawer now and will end up in the trash.

I think 1920X at minimum, or HDTV full and... Sharp's D92 series of LCD displays have a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio see this enormous thing here : http://www.engadget.com/photos/live-pics-of-sharps-108-inch-lcd-hdtv/

If you're looking for a new TV, check out the Olevia brand of TVs. That's where I spent my money...well worth it.

Um, doesn't Zune have a subscription service as well? I've heard good things about that.

Christopher, thanks for the update. You know you should really invest in some tech gadgets yourself. Your camera, or the person using it ;), takes lousy photos. Everything is blurry.

The Ojo that was there had an outstanding picture quality. The ojo is a new way to talk to someone while seeing one another. I thought this would have been on the market years ago. Must be fairly new.

Wondering if anyone makes a personal GPS device that your boss can carry with them as they wander throughout a building [many stories] and their secretary would be able to figure out where they are in the building, in case an emergency phone call comes in ? Pipe Dream ? Hope not, just hoping I'm unaware of it - Thanks for responding !

These are the 5 best things at CES??? Did the author even attend the show??? What about the multipoint convertible Bluetooth headset from Jabra? Everyone with a cell phone and an MP3 player wants this. Or the AmBX gaming surround sound system from Philips? Unreal!
