Ready for a season of remastered discs, box sets, and big movies making new appearances on DVD and Blu-ray? Here's a look at the most heavily-anticipated discs of the summer -- with techies squarely in mind -- any of which would perfect for Father's Day or as a present for your new graduate.

Some are already out. The rest you'll have to preorder.

The Princess Bride Blu-ray (out now) - The Princess Bride on Blu-ray? Conceivable!

Caprica (out now) - The BSG (see below) preview takes place 50 years before the events in the recently-concluded TV series; fans of the show will love this prequel.

Star Trek Blu-ray Collection (5/12) - The first six Star Trek movies hit Blu-ray in one monster box set. Don't worry, you are not required to watch Star Trek V.

Galaxy Quest (5/12) - The 10th anniversary of this sci-fi cult classic means it's time for another DVD. Never gets old.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (5/19) - A new edition of the classic T2 on DVD and Blu-ray, this one packaged inside a replica of a 14-inch T-800 skull (complete with sound effects) that loads every T2 special feature ever released onto six discs.

Dr. Strangelove Blu-ray (6/16) - The best movie ever made? You be the judge, now on Blu-ray.

Spaceballs Blu-ray (6/16) - Not the best movie ever made, but one which occupies a special spot inside every nerd's heart.

My Dinner with Andre (6/23) - No spaceships, no robots, and no magic. But it does have Wallace Shawn, who is totally watchable even if he's just having dinner with Andre Gregory.

This Is Spinal Tap Blu-ray (7/14) - At long last, Spinal Tap hits Blu-ray. This one actually goes to 12... that is, if it isn't delayed once again.

Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series (7/28) - At last, get the entire series on DVD, including all 75 episodes, enough to amuse you for months. Also available on Blu-ray.

How about any cheap sub $100 BluRay players that allow the interactive online content to be used?
