Here's the bargain of the day: $29.99 for an upgrade copy of Windows 7 Home Premium, a product which normally runs $119.99 at retail.
The catch: You have to be enrolled in college... or at least be affiliated with one in some vaguely electronic way.
The upgrade is available on this website to anyone with a .EDU email address. Additional community colleges and a few other educational institutions like seminaries, cooking schools, technical schools, and message therapy schools are eligible, too. A complete list can be found here. Just provide your eligible email address and a special purchasing link will be sent to it.
Already out of school? There's hope: Remember that your old .EDU email address may still work, as many schools allow alumni to continue to use their accounts after graduation. (Alas, mine stuck me with a .NET address created for alumni, dang.) Technically you're supposed to be enrolled currently in coursework in order to be eligible for this offer, but I have a hunch no one's actually checking up with your professors.
The linked page is careful to note that since this is an upgrade copy of Windows 7, make sure your current machine can run it before you purchase the software. The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor will alert you to any incompatibility issues. Run it here before you buy this software -- or before you attempt to undergo any upgrade to Windows 7.

That's not a "complete list" of colleges either.
Ha! I'm in college and they gave me Windows 7 Professional for FREE!
Preordering would have entitled you to a FULL copy of Professional for the same price. The options were: Home Premium Upgrade: $29.99 Home Premium Full: $29.99 Professional Upgrade: $29.99 Professional Full: $29.99 That's right, they charged you the same for both Home Premium Upgrade and Professional Full.
I'd like to enroll in "message school", seems to have all kinds of potential...:)

@Chris: You might want to include that you can also buy Windows 7 Professional for $30. The link is on the webpage where you add it to your shopping cart (Just look around, it says it somewhere). Also, they will mail you a bootable CD, in case you want to do a clean install or install on a new hard drive, for $13 extra, no shipping.
