I've been a fan of WinRAR for years. It's a great utlitiy for handling compressed files: RAR, ZIP, and many other formats.

But here's a special tip for readers of this blog: You can get a free license for WinRAR 3.51, which you can download here. To get your license key and unlock the software from trial mode, simply fill out the form on this web page. The page will work until midnight on Saturday, August 5th.

There's no catch except that by downloading the license key, the WinRAR folks will send you an occasional newsletter. Use an email address that you don't often check if you're concerned about it, but remember, that's where they'll send the code for you to get your license key, so use something legitimate.

Enjoy the free software! It's a $29 value and can often be an indispensible utility.
