Step Right Up for Your Microchip Implant!

Tiny implantable chips have long been available for your pets: The microchips are about the size of a grain of rice, and they are permanently inserted under the skin of your dog or cat. The chip includes a unique ID number that, once read by a veterinarian, can be traced back to you via an online database.

Well you know what I'm about to say had to happen eventually: A similar chip is being proposed for use in humans.

Before you can say "the sign of the beast," lets get some details out of the way. The plan, being lobbied for by the company VeriChip, would replace military dog tags with implanted RFID chips containing information about the soldier's identity and medical history. The plan calls for the chip to be optional and that, of course, they're perfectly safe.

I've no doubt that the chips are medically safe, but I'm deeply worried about how such a system could be abused. In the absence of any other identification, would an RFID implant serve to identify a soldier? RFID data can be faked or cloned relatively easily, and the possibility for someone to masquerade as a legitimate soldier is huge. The implications for the military are especially scary, and that of course is just an obvious first step. Could "chipping" the public follow suit in a few years? I for one am scared silly by the thought of how easy these RFID chips could make identity theft. All a would-be thief would potentially need is an RFID scanner and a convenient bump into you in the street.

The good news is that Congress so far seems pretty unthrilled with the idea, and so far the plan hasn't gotten very far. But the lobbies behind the chip are powerful and have money to burn, so don't expect this idea to go away any time soon. Meanwhile, educate yourself about the technology, write your congressmen, and have your pets spayed and neutered.

I think the article should be more detaile this technology is already being abused and it's been placed in a human in Saginaw, Michigan. Hughes Electronics, when it was a division of General Motors got involved in unauthorized consent experimentation in Saginaw and because officials didn't take an aggressive stand against General Motors the city decided to keep quiet on experimentation that wasn't authorized for businesses and mortgages - basically Saginaw has allowed itself to grow from violating a human being. The implants can be inter-acted with other technology to expand and can be used like a chat line, etc. Saginaw is using it for s&m - promoting perversion and racism. Congress and other agencies - human rights, etc. don't take an aggressive stand it seems when corporations are involved.

I THINK IT IS VERY FRIGHTING TO THINK THAT SOMEONE WANTS TO PUT A CHIP IN MY BODY WHEN THE NUMBER 666 CAN BE IN THAT CHIP.

The 'REAL' ID act has required the states to comply with the federal government's legislation in 2008, that will require all Driver's licenses to have RFID technology. This is Big Brother people. Look at Aaron Russo's "From Freedom to Facism" Here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4312730277175242198. Also see www.infowars.com, www.prisonplanet.com and www.thenewamerican.com to get information to oppose this and other draconian legislation that hurts YOU and YOUR FREEDOM. Don't sit on the sidelines my friend. If you cherish freedom and The United States of America, now is the time to become informed and do something about preserving our country.

I think RFID is a bad idea. I am a child of god as many of you out there might not get what being a child of god would mean. But for me being a christian I see this in the bible as being the MARK OF THE BEAST. For all the Christians out there you know what you belive in. I keep on beliving in my lord Jesus Christ My savior & my hero. The mark of the beast is only meaning the sibel of the anti christ.

if they can make a case for abortion being a woman's right to choose what is in her body, we, as a people, can make a case against mandatory implanting.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." What's wrong with using a credit card? I think it's in our interest to take 1 minute longer at the cash register to protect our privacy, then to throw it away out the window and use some sort of implant. This is all an elaborate scheme for governents to keep track of people. The sad thing is, there is no way to stop it, it has already been foretold that at some point in time we will be required to use such a device implanted in us.

This is crazy! This is just another way for the government to control everything you do, everywhere you go. You think you have trouble now?? Why would we give up our freedoms so easily and for what?? Give me a break. I will never get a chip, for me or my loved ones. And to the government who tries to implement this technology. know this. You will be voted out of office. Read the constitution. We are founded on the principles of freedom. Not confinement.

If America does not stand up and put a stop to the control our government is trying to put on us we are going to be as robots. God needs to be put back in control of America before America self destructs from the ignorance of wommen in control and homosexuals. There brains are not capable of the authority.

Anyone out there ever read George Orwell's "Brave New World" ? Big Brother and the New World Order is gaining momenteum and more power and as all history buffs SHOULD know "Ultimate Power Corrupts Ultimatly". As free thinking citizens of the world we MUST resist at all cost these thinly veiled, disguised chains of slavery. True identity and individuality will be swept aside and the unique expression of the human spririt will be lost if this type of categorization is allowed to proliferate. Peace - Late - Out " SHOCK "

Could a chip like this be used to store your medical history? It could save a life in an emergency if the emergency medical personnel have immediate access to your medical history and prescription medication. I also see the downside, but is storing medical history an upside? I am undecided on this one.
