Two New Smartphones; "A Sidekick for Grown-Ups"

PC Magazine has two new phone reviews of T-Mobile smart phones, both of which look pretty promising for the nine-to-five crowd.

First up is the T-Mobile SDA, a candy bar model running Windows Mobile Smartphone edition. The screen is enormous, Wi-Fi and EDGE supportĀ is standard, and battery life is exhaustive: 9.5 hours of talk time in the PC Mag test. Needs a memory upgrade, but this little number looks like it has nearly everything you'd want in a handset, and at only $300, not a bad deal!

Next there's the T-Mobile MDA, which is a portrait-style PDA that converts into a landscape PDA complete with a full QWERTY keyboard. The review is less thrilled with this $400 model, though it's more equipped for handling the web than the SDA. I'd definitely want integrated 3G on a model like this for any kind of extended surfing. EDGE just doesn't cut it for more than checking the weather or the occasional stock quote.

I like the MDA because it reminds me of appointments or just things I have to do. The calendar is cool and the tasks as well. The touch screen is a plus. Text messaging works great however my MDA freezes a lot and loses signal quite often which is frustrating.
