I've long been a fan of this best freeware page, which provides links to dozens of applications designed to let you do just about anything with your computer... for free.
Well my good buddy Roger Hibbert sent me a link to another freeware compiliation, this one featuring a whopping 450 utilities, from security tools to graphics apps to word processing and more. If you have a problem and you want to solve it, gratis, this is a great place to look for a solution.
Some of the tools linked here solve problems that you readers write to me about every day. Among the favorites that I recommend personally:

I like your first "best freeware" list much better. It may have fewer items than the second list but the utilities listed are much more carefully chosen and their selection is actually justified not just asserted. It's really a "best of the best" kind of list. I agree though, the second list is good when you have a specific need. So each list has its place. Chris
