Reader Sammar Hamdan writes: Hey there Chris, I just got a brand new Verizon phone that can hold music. I had one of my friends put some songs from his computer on it. It worked but I want to do that with my computer. Problem is, I need to know how to convert mp3 files to wma files, since that is what my phone will support. Can you help me please? I heard I needed to download some software to do it.
Sure thing, Sammar. It's not really a "working guy" kind of thing, but it's a pretty easy solution and I don't want to leave you out in the cold.
You heard right: You need additional software to do this conversion. Music format conversion software is widely available online, but here's one of the easiest to use: 4U WMA MP3 Converter. This is a trial version of a $29.95 shareware application, and it will work for 20 days before requiring you to purchase it.
If you're going to be converting a lot of music, it might be worth it. 4U is a very simple tool. Just download the file, install it, then right-click on any MP3 file on your computer. You'll see a new set of commands below the Play command. Just click "Convert to WMA" and the conversion will start. It takes less than a minute to complete.
4U supports numerous other formats and also has more advanced features to let you do batch conversions in bulk. Either way, it's one of the easiest ways to do music conversions that I know of.

At your local Verizon Wireless store you can purchase a V-Cast Music essentials kit. This does the exact same thing as the mentioned solution above via USB.This will allow you to convert all MP3 files as long as they are not iTUNES.Quite simply Bill Gates(CEO Microsoft),and Steve Jobs(CEO Apple) are competitors that why you can't convert itunes to Windows Media Audio(WMA) files. Have a Great Day, and good luck.
